Being a victim

Being a victim

Just because someone attacked you.
Doesn’t mean you have to be a victim.

Just because someone took something from you.
Doesn’t mean you have to be a victim.

Just because someone committed a crime against you.
Doesn’t mean you have to be a victim.

Just because someone broke into your home.
Doesn’t mean you have to be a victim.

Just because someone harmed, hurt or hated you.
Doesn’t mean you have to be a victim.

Just because everyone pities you.
Doesn’t mean you have to be a victim.

Just because everyone expects you to suffer.
Doesn’t mean you have to be a victim.

Just because everyone wants to talk it through over and over again.
Doesn’t mean you have to be a victim.

Just because the whole world knows what happened to you.
Doesn’t mean you have to be a victim.

Just because there are no answers, explanations or solace.
Doesn’t mean you have to be a victim.

It is always your decision if you take on the victim role.
Or not.
