#Coronavirus #BeachBan: How SA surfers circumvent the lockdown

It might just be a gag, since it was published on 9GAG, but it sounds like surfers might have found a perfectly legal way to surf during the beach ban of lockdown level 3 regulations:

Sout African Government: No beaches during lockdown. Surfers: No problem.
Sout African Government: No beaches during lockdown. Surfers: No problem.

This of course sounds very elaborate for a simple surf.

But it’s about principle, as many criticise Police Minister Bheki Cele for his “skewed priorities”.of arresting surfers for breaking lockdown rules when the police should rather go after real criminals.

After peaceful protesters got arrested for demonstrating against the surfing ban, maybe this is to prove a point.

Well, it’s crazy times and still painful to get used to the #Covid19NewNormal.

With lockdowns, beach- and alcohol bans we are reminded that this is serious.

We need to adhere to Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions (NPI) to limit the rate of transmission.

So let’s do everything we can: It’s up to us to stop the spread.

#Coronavirus: #HeroesWearMasks!

#BeAMasketeer and save lives!

Stay Home.

Stay Distant.

Wash Your Hands.

Don’t touch your face.

Wear a mask.
